Description
How can we use robots as a tool for deep STEM learning? Come find out!
In this workshop, you will learn how to use Edison robots to teach your students about technology, engineering, and computer programming. These tough and versatile robots can be programmed four different ways (bar code scanning, visual block programming, text block programming and Python programming language) and controlled with universal remote controls, so they are accessible to all students.
Edison works right out of the box, fully pre-built with all sensors ready to use. There’s no software to install or manage, making it easy to use Edison with different device types and platforms, including laptops, Chromebooks, and tablets.
This session will focus on bar code scanning and visual / text block programming and using the Edison robots to support inquiry and the Next Generation Science Standards.
ALL ARE WELCOME: K-5 teachers, Librarians, MS & HS Robotics Teachers, MS & HS Science Teachers, CTE Teachers, Administrators, CTE Community Partners
WHAT IS INCLUDED ONCE REGISTERED:
The 3 STEM Clock Hours, dinner, access to a lending library with additional robots and applicable grade-level book, and a FREE robot to take with you and have for your classroom!
Each participant will need to bring their own laptop, preferably a device that students will use with the robots.
